Disposal your Interest (Riba) Funds

If you have accumulated interest (riba) from a bank account or other financial source and are unsure how to dispose of it, ERI Hope can assist by ensuring these funds are directed towards projects that benefit Erirean refugee camps in East Sudan.

In accordance with Islamic principles, interest money is not considered a charitable donation, Sadaqah, or Zakat. Rather, it should be removed from one’s wealth and allocated towards public welfare and humanitarian needs.

ERI Hope can utilise these funds for essential works in Eritrean refugee camps and disadvantaged communities, including improving sanitation facilities, repairing toilets, laying flooring, carrying out maintenance works, and supporting other infrastructure projects that help provide safer and more dignified living conditions for displaced families.
